The Doctor is In

[Dr. Price's office is just about exactly what you'd expect from a psychologist's office in the year 6972. There's a large chair next to an equally large and comfortable couch, and a coffee table within reach of both. On the other side of the room, there's large desk with some kind of a computer screen made of glowing light. The metal walls in here have been covered with dark wood paneling, and the lighting is warm and comforting.

There is one of those shitty brass-handled green plastic-shaded lamps on the desk. Why is it there? Aesthetic, apparently.

The desk is flanked by bookshelves filled with nonfiction. There's of course the DSM-40, right next to the DSM-238. Both editions look about the same age, curiously enough. There are also various other books on psychology, psychiatry, and... Artificial Intelligence?

Huh. Everyone's gotta have some hobbies.

There's a long counter with various kinds of tea and a kettle that sits on the counter next to a button, as well as a small sink expressly for washing dishes. There's also a door in the back of the room that probably leads to Dr. Price's personal quarters (good fucking luck).]

[She accepts it with both hands, lightly blowing the steam off the top. It definitely smells like home. Some things never chance, and Human food seems to be one of them.]

I'd like to discuss our imprisonment - or, I suppose, the rehabilitation you talked about earlier this week. There was quite a bit going on while you were talking about it.

[Like Abel getting fried, and the revelation that they were in space which is still throwing her for a loop.]

Of course. What would you like to discuss?

[He folds his hands over one knee and watches her with harmless curiosity.]

The rehabilitation is meant for all of us, yes? Since we're all in this place because of a crime, that should be the whole point.

That's correct, Miss Nikos.

I'm very curious how that is supposed to work, seeing as we all seem to have committed different crimes. The process can't be that simple for all of us, is it?

[thecounselor]

That is part of the point of providing open hours for you to visit with me privately. There are certain issues that are better addressed in one on one sessions, of course.

[Doctor-patient confidentiality, and all]

Nonetheless, I am very hopeful that the group therapy sessions will help facilitate greater connections between you and your fellow inmates.

Well, I hope so. [aren't these meetings hazardous to your health, Price?]

I also hope that happens, but you have to understand I'm a little concerned about our current situation. It's very... unorthodox.

[thecounselor]

[It's not the MOST danger he's ever been in...]

I do understand that you may have reservations. It should only be a matter of time before you can all start to be returned home.

[But it IS dangerous.]

Well, that's a relief. [it really is, haha...]

If I may make one recommendation though?

[He opens up his tablet in its smallest shape and takes a small note.]

Of course.

[He nods.]

...Allow your patients some sort of sentencing. I can't remember anything of the like happening before I woke up here.
